We camped this weekend at a festival in Gloucestershire in our bell tent with the Frontier stove and newly fitted flashing kit.
On setting up the tent and stove I could have sold a good dozen. It was difficult to keep people out of the tent. If I had had a trailer load of them I think I could have sold them all!!
I didn’t light it up until the first morning which was not so easy. I used paper and small kindling – but a night in a tent had made the paper damp and it took a lot of coaxing and puffing to get it going. Next time I will definitely use firelighters. The stove was hot and boiled a kettle in no time.
The smoke from the chimney attracted more potential customers!
I positioned the flashing kit so it would be just over two pipe sections above the stove. The canvas around it got warm but never hot – even when cooking.
It was very windy but the stove kept us warm and only blew back very little smoke even in the hardest wind. The tent was pushed about a bit and the chimney popped apart once from the tent side lifting in the wind but was soon re-attached.
It heated quickly for cooking and kept warm almost all night with a couple of small logs in it and door and damper closed.
It was definitely a hit and we shall use it again – and so easy to transport.
